GOOD HOPE, Ala. — Good Hope High School’s Kloe White will be a junior in August, and in this interview, she discussed the role that God has played in her life, starting with a few Bible verses that have helped her during her walk with God.

“He has changed my life completely. He has given me worth, joy, and has shown me love beyond understanding. He has given me a new perspective on the world and taught me how to love others, and He’s really shown me how my life can help lead others to Christ,” White said. “One of my favorite Bible verses is John 3:31: ‘The one who comes from heaven is above all’. This verse reminds me that He is above all things, so I can trust that He will bring me through whatever I’m going through. Another one is Corinthians 12:9: ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness’. This verse reassures me that I don’t have to be perfect all of the time, for where I am weak, His strength will be shown. It reminds me to be real with Him, so that He can refine me and ultimately shine brighter through me. It helps me understand that the refining process that we all go through as Christians isn’t made to break us down, but to bring out the weakness in us, so that through Him, we will become stronger. My last one is Romans 6:5: ‘For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we will certainly also be united with Him in a resurrection like His’. This one reminds me to look forward to the second coming of Christ and to stand firm in my beliefs, no matter what the world tells me.”

Kloe wants to play a part in helping people of all ages find God and be a role model for younger kids.

“It means a lot to me, because I know that if I didn’t have my parents and my church constantly praying over me and leading me, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I believe one of our duties as Christians is to protect the innocent and the defenseless, so to have the opportunity to plant a seed in a child’s life is one of the greatest blessings you could ever have. Serving at my church in the kids’/teen ministry has opened my eyes to the life change that can happen at such a young age. It’s opened my eyes to the calling that God has for these younger generations and being able to see that change is something I hope I never take for granted,” White said. “It means a lot to me. Growing up, my parents always instilled the principle of being a leader and being someone who leads through our actions, so setting the same example for other kids and being held to that standard means a lot to me. To be able to make my parents proud in that way is super rewarding and knowing that I can maybe change someone’s day for the better by being an example for God is something I’m very grateful for.”

Kloe enjoys serving her community and gave advice to any people who might be struggling when it comes to forming a new relationship with God.

“I have served throughout my community. My favorite one was when some of the student leaders would help give out Chick-Fil-A biscuits at school in the morning and invite others to come to church with us. It was so fun to be able to talk to everyone and to see them at church later on felt really rewarding,” she said. “I would remind them of Jeremiah 31:3: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with unfailing kindness’, to show them who He is and His kindness towards sinners like us. I would also tell them to start reading their Bible and start giving thanks to God every day, because with that gratitude will come trust and faith in the Lord. Finally, I would tell them to find someone to mentor them, whether it be a parent, pastor, or friend, but find someone to walk in the Spirit with you. I would help them by being that friend or mentor if they need it, and by praying over them and speaking blessings and growth over them.”

Kloe has learned some very important lessons during her journey so far.

“I have learned in the hardship and the waiting is where you’ll find God. He is not at the finish line. He’s right there running with me.”
