CULLMAN, Ala. – Jessica Fulmer Svarney recently announced her candidacy for Place 3 on the Cullman City Board of Education.

Jessica Fulmer Svarney is proud to announce her candidacy for Cullman City School Board, Place #3. A dedicated parent, longtime volunteer, and active member of the school community, Svarney brings years of hands-on experience and a deep passion for education to the race.
“As a parent of two students — Dylan Svarney, a senior at Cullman High School, and Ayden Svarney, an 8th grader at Cullman Middle School — and a Bearcat alumna myself, I’ve seen firsthand the value of strong public schools,” said Svarney. “I’ve worked closely with teachers, administrators, and staff as a substitute teacher and as a six-year president of the West Elementary PTA. I understand the needs of our schools and the importance of strong, transparent leadership.”
Svarney is running on a platform focused on supporting student success, advocating for teachers and staff, and ensuring Cullman City Schools continue to thrive in academics, technology, and curriculum innovation.
Her top priorities include:
- Ensuring transparency and accountability in decision-making
- Supporting student achievement and well-being
- Advocating for safe, inclusive, and innovative learning environments
- Partnering with families, educators, and the community
- Maintaining open-door policies and encouraging every voice to be heard
“I’m ready to listen, learn, and lead with integrity and collaboration,” Svarney said. “Every child in Cullman deserves access to a high-quality education, and our teachers deserve the tools and support to make that possible.”
