JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Head coach Rick Pietri has added Toni West to Jacksonville State’s women’s basketball staff ahead of the 2025-26 season. West spent two seasons as an assistant coach for Wallace State-Hanceville prior to joining the Gamecocks.
West helped lead Wallace State to an ACCC Tournament Title in the 2024-25 season, including a 49-46 win over Alabama community college perennial power Shelton State to earn their place in the NJCAA DI Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament. West and Wallace State then went on to win their first-round matchup in the NJCAA Tournament by a score of 62-46 over Murray State College. West’s Lions eventually fell to Northwest Florida State College in the second-round of the NJCAA Tournament.
On top of winning the ACCC Championship and making the second round of the NJCAA Tournament, West and Wallace State achieved a 29-5 overall record and an 11-3 record in conference play in 24-25. In her first season at Wallace State, she helped guide the Lady Lions to a record of 25-6 and an ACCC tournament runner-up title. West also served as a Wallace State recruiter.
West graduated from Cold Springs High School in 2021, where she was a member of the 2018-19 State Championship team. She continued her basketball career at Shelton State Community College from 2021 to 2023. During her time at Shelton State, she finished with a record of 60-6 and was a 2x ACCC regular season and tournament champion. She earned an associate degree at Shelton State in May 2023.
West is the daughter of Patrick and Tammy West. Tammy has been the coach at Cold Springs High School for 33 years and has won 4 State Championships. Toni also has two older sisters, Hayden and Bailey, who are both high school coaches.
