VINEMONT, Ala. – The Vinemont High School Golf Team will host its third annual golf tournament fundraiser on Monday, June 9, at Terri Pines Golf Course. The four-man scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m., with registration priced at $100 per player or $400 per team. Fees include golf fees, cart and lunch provided by Terri Pines as well as eligibility for a variety of door prizes. Participants will also have the option to purchase mulligans, one for $10 or three for $20.
Each player will contribute a variety of door prizes for tournament participants. Additionally, hole sponsorships are available for $100, giving local businesses and supporters a chance to promote their brands while supporting the Vinemont golf program.
Though this is the tournament’s third year, it will be Coach Matt Collins’ first year at the helm of the boys’ golf program, taking over from longtime coach Shannon Bridges.
“She and our girls’ coach, Daniel Lee, have had good success to this point with the tournament and it’s something that we want to continue to grow,” said Collins.
All proceeds from the tournament will go directly to funding the 2026 golf season, covering costs like course and tournament fees, travel and needed equipment. “Golf is one of our high school sports that has to be completely funded by the individual participants,” he explained. “Without this tournament and other fundraisers, our players and their families would have to pay a substantial amount. My hope is to be able to keep costs down so that current and future players won’t feel like they can’t participate because of the cost.”
