Berlin getting $295K from State to widen, resurface Mt. Carmel Drive

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger, R-Cullman, recently announced he secured more than $545,000 in funding from the Ivey administration for needed road repairs and improvements in Cullman and Winston counties.

“Good roads are important for our area’s economic success, but they are also a quality of life issue for the residents who have to travel on them,” Gudger said. “I will continue ensuring that the tax dollars we send to Montgomery return to Senate District 4 many times over in the form of road construction, infrastructure improvements and other projects essential to our area.”

The secured funding for upcoming road projects includes:

  • $295,627.25 for the Town of Berlin in Cullman County to widen and resurface Mt. Carmel Drive, including realignment of the intersection with U.S. Highway 278

$250,000 for the Town of Addison in Winston County to resurface Highland Street, Third Street and Elm Street (Rep. Tim Wadsworth, R-Arley, worked with Gudger to obtain the funding
