Danny Wayne Byram, 78, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1946, in Boldo, Alabama, to Chart and Audrey [Huffstutler] Byram.
Danny lived a life full of passion, dedication, and adventure. A proud graduate of West Point High School, Class of 1964, he went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy, completing two tours aboard the USS Braine. He later became a Master Mason with West Point Lodge #758.
A true outdoorsman, Danny was an avid coonhunter and a longtime member of the Alabama Coonhunters Association, the Cullman County Coonhunters Club, and the Professional Kennel Club (PKC). His skills in the sport earned him a place as a three-time Top 32 finalist in the PKC World Championship.
Danny was also a well-known figure in his community. He worked as a used car salesman for over 30 years and was the proud owner of The Pawn Shop for two decades. He had a love for cars and enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts, coins, and anything of value.
Above all, Danny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Byram; his children, Jody (Sonya) Byram and Tina Stricklin; and his grandchildren, Justice Waldrep, Kelce Byram, Paris Stricklin, Ace Stricklin, Graph Byram, and Khale Byram; and upcoming great-grandchild Haddix Wayne Waldrep. He also leaves behind his siblings, Tommy Byram, Donna (Gerald) Schafer, and Debra (Gary) McMinn, as well as his sister-in-law, Peggy Byram.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Missionary Grove Baptist Church, 1365 County Road 1141, Cullman, AL 35057. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m., with interment directly after.
Danny’s legacy of love, hard work, and adventure will be cherished forever by those who knew him.
