A variety of furry friends is available for adoption from the Cullman County Animal Shelter. (Cullman County Animal Shelter)

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Animal Shelter is working hard to give abandoned and injured animals a second chance. The shelter ensures all the animals it houses are healthy and ready for adoption.

Usual adoption fees for dogs are $130, and cats are $100. These fees pay for spay and neuter procedures, necessary vaccinations, microchipping, deworming and a 24-hour flea pill.

In addition to medical treatment, the shelter rehabilitates and rehomes animals from cruelty cases, nursing them back to health before placing them with new families.

Shelter Manager Andrea Hudson oversees daily shelter happenings, cares for animals in need and helps them find new forever homes. With her background at a veterinary clinic, Hudson is passionate and determined to help each pet find a happy and safe future.

The shelter is always in need of donations, including treats, blankets, towels and food. Volunteers are also welcome.

Visit the shelter at 935 Convent Road NE. It’s open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Contact the Cullman County Animal Shelter at 256-734-5448 or cullmananimalshelter@co.cullman.al.us.
