Danny Ray Thomas, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 71. Mr. Thomas was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on August 18, 1953.
Danny was a 1971 graduate of Hayden High School. After graduation, Mr. Thomas obtained his CDL’s and drove a truck for many years, primarily in the excavation industry, where he was a dump truck operator. Danny also volunteered as a fireman with the Holly Pond Fire and Rescue Squad for several years and was an active member at Center Point Baptist Church. When his health allowed, Mr. Thomas enjoyed attending the Holly Pond Senior Center. In more recent years, Danny enjoyed being at home where he played games and worked in adult coloring books.
Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Velma Louallen Thomas; son, Joe Thomas; and father-in-law, Bud Heaton.
Those left to cherish the memory of Danny includes his wife, Denease Thomas; son, Jasson Thomas, (wife, Brandy); mother-in-law, Billie Jane Heaton; brother-in-law, Brian Heaton, (wife Krystal); six grandchildren, Nic Thomas, Zoe Dunn, Abbye Thomas, Myah Thomas, Loralie Thomas, and Mason Thomas; as well as many other loving family members.
Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday evening, February 4, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held for Mr. Thomas on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery, where Jasson Thomas will officiate. Services begin at 12 p.m.
Danny was a loving husband and father, and he leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come.
