PREP FOOTBALL: Meek races past Cherokee 68-28

ARLEY, Ala. — After collecting a big region win over Addison last week, the Tigers were back home Friday night for another region matchup against Cherokee. Meek dominated this one from start to finish, lighting up the scoreboard on its way to a 68-28 win over the Indians.

The Tigers jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the first quarter and continued adding to their lead throughout the first half, going into the locker room with a commanding, 38-14 lead at the halftime break.

Cherokee trimmed the lead to 38-20 early in the third quarter but Meek answered with a pair of touchdowns to make it a 54-20 game going into the fourth. The Tigers tacked on two more scores in the final frame to pull away with a dominant, 68-28 region win over the Indians.

Meek improves to 5-3 with the win and the Tigers will be back on the road next week to for a region matchup at Vina.
