BREMEN, Ala. — Adriana Young is a senior at Cold Springs High School this year and in this interview, she discussed the role that God has played in her life. She shared her favorite Bible verse and talked about how much it means to her.

“Ever since I was little, God has been a very important part of my life. He has made me who I am today, and without Him to pull me through the tribulations of life, I would be in a terrible place. I have never experienced a love greater than the love of God, and I will make it my life’s mission to tell others about His goodness,” Young said. “One of my favorite Bible verses is James 1:19. It says, ‘My dear brothers and sisters, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.’ It reminds me in tough times to be the patient and kind person God calls me to be.”

Adriana wants to be there for anyone that wants help finding God, and she has so many role models in her own life that she looks up to as well.

“Helping others, especially kids, find God is very important to me. It’s a way to provide guidance, support, and a sense of purpose to others who have never had it before. Showcasing God’s love to children can positively impact them for the rest of their lives,” she said. “I have had many Godly role models in my life, from my family to my preacher. But there’s three people who have stuck out the most the past few years: Kenady Graves, Avery Gerstman, and Bailee Light. They radiate God’s love. They show patience, kindness, and love when others can’t. They constantly inspire me to be more like God. In every situation, they are a prime example of what Jesus would do.”

Adriana was a part of a special mission that has helped out a lot of kids so far, and she wants to continue to be that Godly role model for so many more people.

“One of my favorite missions that I’ve been a part of has been the FCA association at my school. FCA is a good way to spread the goodness of God to people who may not hear it anywhere else. I have loved it, and it’s truly a blessing to be a part of that association,” she said. “It’s very important to be a Godly role model to others. God calls us as Christians to stand out in a crowd and to be the light that other people need. We are constantly influencing people every day, no matter your age. That’s why God calls us to be steadfast in His word and to be an example of His love, because someone is always watching.”

Adriana has continued to inspire a lot of people with her own journey and she talked about some of the traditions she shares with her softball teammates.

“It’s truly an honor and such a blessing to be able to inspire others in a way that reflects God’s love and guidance. Knowing that I can make a positive difference in someone’s life through God’s love brings me deep joy and gratitude,” she said. “We pray before and after every game to make sure that we dedicate our sport to God.”

She gave advice to those people that want a relationship with God but might be new to that kind of experience, and she talked about what she has learned the most during her journey so far.

“My advice to new Christians would be that it’s okay to be confused, and it’s okay to feel like you don’t know what you’re doing. God doesn’t call us to know; He tells us to listen. The most important thing to do is to put God first. Put God first over everything you do in life, and the rest will come,” she said. “What I’ve learned so far is that it’s not going to be easy, but choosing to have a relationship with God is better than living a life without one.”
