CULLMAN, Ala. – At its Aug. 15 meeting, the Cullman County Board of Education approved additional Special Education contracts to assist the system’s schools in accommodating students with an array of special needs.
“This is a list of different people we contract with for different reasons, many of these are paid for out of grants and things that we received that we can bring these special services into some of our most severe Special Ed classrooms,” said Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette.
Barnette also shared his superintendent’s report at the meeting, reminding families of important dates and upcoming events.
“I just want to say that we’ve gotten off to a smooth start,” he said. “Bringing all the students back, the system is growing with the leadership, faculty and staff at all of our schools.”
In his report, Barnette reiterated that on Labor Day, this year on Monday, Sept. 2, all Cullman County Schools campuses, as well as the CCBOE Central Office, will be closed. He said the first nine weeks progress reports will be sent home on Sept. 6.
