Mr. Purdy was born on July 4, 1969 and left his earthly home on August 13, 2024 to be with his father, Ronnie Purdy and brother, Samuel Purdy. Born in Birmingham, AL and raised in Hanceville, Alabama, John was a student of Hanceville High School.

From an early age, John developed a deep love for nature. He enjoyed fishing and swimming, where he found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. He also had a natural talent for working with his hands, which led him to a career in construction. His craftsmanship and dedication to his work were admired by all who knew him. Music was another passion of John’s, and he enjoyed all kinds, finding solace and inspiration in melodies and rhythms that resonated with his spirit. John was funny and loved to make people laugh. His smile and warm, caring heart will be cherished by many.

He is survived by his mother & step-father, Joyce and Skip Lassiter; daughter, Angel Purdy; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Richard, Brandi, Little Angel, and Seth; half-brother, Matthew Purdy and his wife- Kayla; step-brothers, Brandon and Nick Lassiter; uncle, Jerry Isbell; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and extended family, Mechelle Chappell (Mike Hooper) and her children, Brenda, Sonya, Archie and Kenneth.
