Anna Marie Maddox, age 85, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024.

Anna was a devout Christian and attend church faithfully until her health began to decline, even though unable to attend services she continued to read her Bible every night. She enjoyed Gardening in all of its forms she is remembered for having large vegetable gardens and beautiful flowers. She found great joy quilting, knitting and crocheting. Even though Anna had no children of her own she shared her home with many Nieces and Nephews over the years and has been a mother figure to them the Children and grandchildren.

Her great, great niece had these memories to share as she reflected over her life spent with Anna

”Throughout my life, Anna has been the most positive role model for me. Growing up right next door to her, she was a special grandmother figure. Despite not having children of her own, she treated everyone as if they were hers. Anna loved deeply and always wore a big smile, no matter the circumstances. Her life was filled with valuable lessons, the most important being to trust in God.

Having grown up beside her, she was a constant presence in my life. I cherish countless memories with her, and her absence has left an indescribable emptiness. My love and respect for her are beyond words.

Anna had a beautiful soul that touched everyone around her. Every person needs a woman like her in their life. Forever in my heart, Aunt Ann, I will love you always.”

Anna is survived by her nieces & caregivers Pam Stead, Carol Sandlin and nephew Chris Odachowski.

Anna was preceded in death by her brothers Edward Schmuck, Louis Schmuck, Theodore Schmuck, Martin Schmuck, Frank Schmuck, Benjamin Schmuck, James Schmuck and Charles Schmuck, and her sisters Dorothy Schmuck Beasley & Theresa Schmuck Hoenig.
