Melissa Smith Collum, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on the afternoon of May 28, 2024, at the age of 54. Mrs. Collum was born in Georgia, on April 12, 1970.

Mrs. Smith and her husband, Michael, were married 34 years. Together they produced a wrestling show and Melissa loved nothing more than to watch her son, Chris, wrestle. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she extended her love to anyone who needed a second mom. Melissa was kind but she would tell you the truth in love. Melissa’s loving and nurturing nature extended to animals, and she adored her miniature chihuahuas. She was an avid Alabama fan and she enjoyed watching birds, particularly hummingbirds, and red birds. Melissa touched many people over the course of her 54 years, and she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Hardin; sister, Lisa Lytle; and grandchildren, Christian and Angel Baby.

Those surviving Mrs. Smith includes her husband, Michael Collum; mother, Eva Hardin; son, Chris Collum (Tiffany); daughter, Crystal Ashley (Stephen); brother, Johnny Smith (Theresa); and grandchildren, Zayden, Zayleigh, and Leland. Melissa is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, June 3, 2024, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, from 2:00 p.m. until services begin at 3:00 p.m. Bret Treptau will officiate. Mrs. Smith will be buried in Concord Cemetery following services.
