VINEMONT, Ala. – A Leap of Faith Equestrian Center LLC in Vinemont invites the community to its second annual Picnic with Ponies event, set for May 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This family friendly event promises a day full of activities, music and food for all ages. Admission is $5 per car.

Owner and instructor Maneka Rocca shared, “Three things that I am passionate about in life are my faith, family and horses. I am so excited to host a family day at our farm for our community to enjoy horse rides, games, inflatables, good food from local food trucks and live music.”

Picnic with Ponies will feature a variety of activities designed to engage attendees of all ages. Horse rides around the scenic pond are available for $5 per rider, while attendees can also enjoy inflatables, volleyball, badminton, cornhole and other yard games. Adding to the festivities, the Crooked Creek Band will perform live, bringing a playlist full of 90s country music to the farm.

A selection of food trucks will also be on-site, including Big Barts BBQ, Beto’s Taco and More, Alabama Mud Coffee and Candy Ice. Vendors are welcome to join the event as well.

Reflecting on what makes the event special, Rocca explained, “Picnic with Ponies was originally inspired by our love of being on the farm with our family. We also believe everyone that joins us for riding lessons and trail rides becomes a part of our ‘ALOF Family.’ We wanted to give an opportunity to our community to enjoy a family fun day with us, too!”

Last year’s inaugural event set a high standard, with many attendees eagerly anticipating this year’s edition.

“Last year’s event went really well to be our first event. We had several people asking at the beginning of the year if we would be putting it on again. We are hoping even more families join us this year,” Rocca noted.

The event not only serves as a fun day out, but also aligns with the mission of A Leap of Faith Equestrian Center, which was founded in 2018 with a vision to provide a fun and safe environment for all ages to pursue their horsemanship goals.

“A Leap of Faith Equestrian Center was a God-given dream of mine and was established in 2018. We give lessons, trail rides, board horses and host horse shows and birthday parties. Our mission is to provide a fun and safe environment for all ages to pursue their horsemanship goals. Eventually, our dream is to also offer equine therapy for kids in the foster system and others struggling with trauma, PTSD, bereavement, grief, etc.,“ Rocca shared.

Rocca concluded, “I always work the horse rides around the pond, and I absolutely love seeing everyone excited to ride. It melts my heart to watch new riders discover a love of horses and to hear previous riders reminisce on childhood memories.”
