CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) was involved in an incident that started at Parkside School Tuesday, March 12, and became a high-speed pursuit that ended in Morgan County a short time later.

Sheriff Matt Gentry said the incident started at Parkside when the school resource officer attempted to arrest a subject who was causing issues at the school.

“The subject resisted and ultimately fled in a vehicle, Gentry said Tuesday. “This led to an extended car pursuit that ended in Morgan County after multiple agencies joined in the pursuit in order to make the arrest.”

On Friday, March 15, Gentry identified the suspect as Antonio Roc Thompson, 27, of Blountsville. He was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, escape, trespassing and disorderly conduct.

According to the CCSO, the incident began just prior to school letting out Tuesday, and Thompson was apprehended in Morgan County at about 3:50 p.m. The event lasted, in total, approximately one hour.

Thompson is currently being held in the Cullman County Detention Center on a $23,100 bond.
