Ronald Elbert Mann, born on May 25, 1947 in Cullman passed away on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024 at the age of 76 surrounded by his family.

He was proud to spend the last years and moments of his life in his home on 4th Ave Southeast in Cullman, a few blocks from where he was born and spent the early years of his life on 4th Ave Northeast. Ron’s legacy of love, hard work, and strong faith will forever remain in our hearts.

Ron bravely enlisted and served as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He was a successful mechanical engineer before taking a career leap to become a financial advisor for Edward Jones where he not only built a successful business but also trained and led brokers across the region.

Ron found meaning in helping individuals and families plan for their financial future and he was delighted that his son Chris and granddaughter-in-law Maddie chose to follow him into the business. Ron was active in his church and his community.

Ron’s pride and joy was his family.  He is survived by his wife and love of his life – Carolyn Loyd Mann as well as his children Jennifer Shugarts (Scott), Christopher Mann (Luz Marina), and Blake Mann (Scott Dickinson).

He is affectionately known as Daddy Mann to his grandchildren, their spouses, and others close to the family: Tyler Shugarts (Alexandra), Nicholas Shugarts (Madeline and soon great-granddaughter, Ruth Elaine), Logan Shugarts, Dawson Shugarts, Lindsey Mann, and Audrey Mann.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Elbert Durell and Doris Marie Mann and brothers Gregory Durell Mann and Peter Bray.

Visitation for Ronald will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home, 1901 2nd Avenue Northwest, Cullman, AL 35055, followed by a celebration of life funeral service at 1 p.m. Ronald will be laid to rest in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
