Teen arrested after high-speed pursuit in Cullman County involving stolen vehicle

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Brandon Chester Stephens, 18, of Falkville, after a brief pursuit Friday night, Jan. 5. The pursuit began just after 8 p.m. on U.S. Highway 278 West and ended just inside Winston County. The vehicle driven by Stephens had been reported stolen.

“I am extremely grateful for the hard work and quick actions of our deputies that resulted in the apprehension of this individual. I am also so very thankful that no one was injured in the pursuit. In addition, I would like to thank the surrounding agencies that stepped in to help with this incident,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry.

Stephens is currently being held at the Cullman County Detention Center. He is charged with first-degree receiving stolen property, reckless endangerment and attempting to elude.

Additional charges may be pending as this is a developing incident.
