CULLMAN, Ala. – St. Bernard Preparatory School recently announced the remarkable achievement of one of its exceptional seniors, Nicolas “Andrew” Tombo, who has been accepted to the esteemed College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts with a full-ride scholarship through the prestigious QuestBridge program.

QuestBridge, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to linking high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds and first-generation students with leading institutions of higher education, recently selected Tombo out of a competitive pool of over 20,800 applicants. Among the 6,683 finalists vying for the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship, Tombo stood out among the 2,242 distinguished students recognized as Match Scholarship recipients.

Tombo’s unparalleled accomplishment is underscored by the substantial financial aid package offered by the College of the Holy Cross, encompassing the entire cost of attendance, including tuition, housing, meals, books, supplies and travel expenses. This generous scholarship, estimated at over $80,000 per year, signifies not only recognition of Tombo’s academic prowess, but also his exceptional promise as a future leader.

Tombo is the son of DeAnna Tombo of Birmingham. A release from the school said Tombo epitomizes the values of St. Bernard Preparatory School, showcasing academic excellence, commitment and the pursuit of knowledge.
