CULLMAN, Ala. – A cloudy chill and slight morning drizzle were no match for Cullman’s car community Saturday, Nov. 11, as the 37th Annual Ho! Ho! Ho! Christmas Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show coaxed residents out of their warm homes to gaze at cars, bikes and trucks lovingly cared for and customized. The show brings out avid gearheads, collectors and observers alike for a good cause: raising funds for Cullman Caring for Kids.

Models ranging from vintage to new in every color, even fluorescent hues, dotted the parking lot of Cullman Caring for Kids, as owners bundled up to sit in their lawn chairs or enjoy a burger from a new food truck on the Cullman scene, Blessed Burgers. Music kept the crowd feelin’ right as old car show buddies met up again and new attendees got to ooh and ahh over unique customizations.

Organizer Sonya Green said that while the event serves to honor the late Burl Smith and Larry Harris, it also serves the community by giving back and partnering with Cullman Caring for Kids. This year’s show charged a $20 admission or a new packaged toy worth the same amount, and featured a silent auction and raffle tickets that raised over $5,800 to go back to Cullman Caring for Kids.

“This is our 37th year hosting the show for Cullman Caring for Kids. We are so gracious that we’re able to help them do this; we know that every dollar counts for them,” said Green, noting the importance of helping local free pantries ahead of the holiday season.

“We try our best and we depend on the residents and merchants of Cullman who are great with donations. If you’re ever interested in donating, reach out to us or to Cullman Caring for Kids, and we’d be happy to help!” she exclaimed.

Senior Director of Cullman Caring for Kids Javon Daniel said the partnership is a longstanding one that they’ve enjoyed having over the years, sharing, “We absolutely love partnering with Ho! Ho! Ho! Christmas Car Show. They’re wonderful people – two great families that put this on in memory of Mr. Smith and Mr. Harris that have passed.”

Daniel explained that the event isn’t a stuffy fundraiser like many can be; it’s genuinely “just fun” to get out of the house for a morning and see some beautiful craftsmanship and customization.

“It’s a joy to be around them. You see beautiful cars, absolutely gorgeous trucks, it’s just fun. It’s a fun time, and we really appreciate everything they do for Cullman Caring for Kids!” smiled Daniel.
