Stabbing incident shocks local community

UPDATE: Adam Clark, CPD public relations director, announced Sunday that Kyle Brett Christian, 39, has been arrested and charged with domestic violence-2nd degree in the stabbing incident on Dripping Springs on Saturday.

Clark stated that Krystal Dawn Cottingham, 34, is in stable condition following the incident.

CULLMAN, Ala. – In a disturbing development in a usually quiet neighborhood, a stabbing incident was reported at 1418 Dripping Springs Road NW Saturday evening. Cullman Police Department public relations officer Adam Clark informed said the call was received at 4:47 p.m., prompting an immediate response from authorities.

Witnesses described a distressing scene as a woman emerged from an apartment screaming, “I’ve been stabbed!” The incident left the neighborhood in shock, particularly due to the alleged inaction of others nearby. A local resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, expressed their family’s fear and concern for the victim’s safety.

In response to the severity of the situation, the CPD confirmed it called in AirEvac for the victim. The helicopter was expected to land near West Elementary.

The police said this was an isolated domestic incident. One individual was detained in connection with the stabbing, while the victim, whose condition remains undisclosed, was to be transported to Huntsville Hospital.
