CULLMAN, Ala. – As the community prepares for countless Halloween parties, trunk-or-treats and traditional trick-or-treating, one nonprofit is standing above the rest by not only offering candy, but also extending a hand up – or, in this case, a paw up. 3Sixty Jeep Club, known for combining Jeep enthusiasts with a passion for giving back, has teamed up with Paws Up Rescue LLC to host A Nightmare At Depot Park on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 5-8 p.m.

The purpose of the event is twofold: provide free enjoyment for the community, and rally that same community to give back to a worthy cause. In addition to Jeeps decked out in their spooky-season best, frightfully delicious food trucks, loads of vendors and all the candy your treat basket can hold, 3Sixty will be collecting supplies and donations to benefit Paws Up Rescue.

Paws Up Rescue is a small, independent foster-based animal rescue that works with rescues and strays. Founder Brandie Johnson and Jessica Logan, positive reinforcement trainer and canine behavior consultant, work hand in hand to foster and adopt out dogs that come into their care – but it doesn’t come cheap.

Summer Shaddix, head of public relations at 3Sixty, said partnering with an animal rehabilitation nonprofit that gives these animals a second chance at life paired perfectly with 3Sixty’s core mission of giving “A hand up, not a handout.” Shaddix laughed, “In this situation, it is a paw!”

Johnson poured out gratitude at being chosen as the beneficiary of the event, noting that the support from the community is what keeps their mission going strong to find loving homes for animals in their care.

“We are deeply grateful for the generosity of the  3Sixty Jeep Club, and the support from our wonderful community. Being chosen as the beneficiary of their event is both an honor and a blessing,” she said. “The support we receive is invaluable, enabling us to continue our mission of caring for and finding loving homes for animals in need. We look forward to a fantastic day and extend heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making this possible!”

A Nightmare at Depot Park is set for Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. 3Sixty will be accepting donations of cash, pet toys, blankets and treats (no rawhide, please) to benefit animals at Paws Up Rescue.
