HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Hanceville City Council at its meeting on Thursday read and reviewed the proposed fiscal year 2024 budget.

Mayor Kenneth Nail said that the proposed budget comes after meeting with department heads, reviewing their needs and suggestions and then making adjustments where necessary before bringing it to the council for final approval.

“We go through two choppings before we bring it to y’all,” Nail said to the council, “and then y’all of course can add or chop anything else.”

After a lengthy reading and review with clarifications from City Clerk Tania Wilcox, the council motioned to table the proposed budget to allow time for a more review.
