BREMEN, Ala. – Cold Springs was back at home Friday night to host a regional game against Lamar County and despite a three-touchdown performance from Matt Williams, the Bulldogs proved to be too much for the Eagles and took the road matchup 46-20.

Matt Williams’ first touchdown of the night got the Eagles on the board in the first quarter, but the Bulldogs still led the way 14-6 going into the second. Williams found the end zone again in the second quarter to put six more points on the board for Cold Springs, but Lamar County’s offense continued to move the ball effectively and the Bulldogs went into the locker room leading the Eagles 33-12 at halftime.

Lamar County added a pair of touchdowns to its lead in the third quarter, extending the lead to 46-12 going into the final frame. Willaims punched in his third touchdown of the night and Tyson Kilgo ran in the two-point conversion to cut into the lead in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles couldn’t chip away any more than that and Cold Springs fell to Lamar County 46-20.

The Eagles will be on the road next week to face Locust Fork.
