CURRY, Ala. – The Cold Springs Eagles hit the road to kick off the 2023 season at Curry Friday night and they returned home 1-0 after collecting a 20-0 win over the Yellow Jackets.
Mason Gable’s first touchdown of the night gave the Eagles an 8-0 lead going into the locker room at halftime and his second score on the ground stretched the lead to 14-0 later in the third quarter.
Matt Williams added another touchdown on the ground in the fourth quarter to make it a 20-0 game and the Cold Springs defense kept Curry off the board to preserve a shutout win and open the season 1-0.
The Eagles will now prepare to host a county battle against the Holly Pond Broncos next week.
