CULLMAN, Ala. – Local nonprofit Hope Horses, Inc. is known for benefiting individuals with special physical, social, cognitive and emotional needs through adaptive therapeutic riding, building core strength, fine and gross motor skills, socialization and confidence. The group is hosting a barbecue fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to support its mission.

Executive Director Kelsey Scott said the BBQ and Chicken Plate Fundraiser will be catered by Luna’s BBQ. For $15, you get your choice of barbecue or chicken with a side of coleslaw and baked beans, chips and a cookie. Plates can be picked up at the Hope Horses facility at 1301 Convent Road NE in Cullman. To place your order, call 256-507-4088 or email krice@hopehorsesinc.com.

“All proceeds raised will go towards the Hope Horses adaptive therapeutic riding program. There’s nothing like the power of a horse, giving students the opportunity to have fun and have a place of hope,” Scott said. “Hope strictly runs on fundraising events and general donations. Our goal is to sell 500 plates.”

Scott said community members can help support Hope Horses if they are so inclined.

“You can help by volunteering, sending in donations off our Amazon list found on our website, monetary donations, simply pray for us or host a supply drive for the program,” Scott said. “You can email volunteer@hopehorsesinc.com to set up a tour today to learn more about how you can be involved with the Hope Horses mission.”
