Obituary: Amelia “Midge” Lindley

Amelia “Midge” Lindley, 94, of Hanceville, formerly of Addison, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Hanceville Nursing Home and Rehabilitation.

Midge was born on April 23, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to Homer Russell Pyne and Theresa Alfreda Chance Pyne. She was a hardworking and simple woman. Midge loved to garden and to can and preserve the fruits of her labor.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where the service will be at 2pm. Brother Mike Tidwell and Brother Mackey Watts will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Addison.

Mega is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Dollar and her husband Donald; grandchildren, Candy Watts and her husband Mackey, and Tim Dollar and his wife Marta; great grandchildren, Case Watts, Lily Dollar, and Molly Dollar; one great-great-granddaughter, Brylee Gene Watts; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. “Pete” Lindley; her parents, Homer and Theresa Pyne; and sisters, Fega Davis and Martha Ann Blackwood.
