Billy Joe Morgan Sr., 90, of Addison, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at his home.
Billy was born on Nov. 22, 1932 in Hartselle, Alabama to James Preston and Ola Mae Smothers Morgan. Billy was a hardworking, quiet man. He loved telling stories and fishing, but most of all, he loved his family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where services will be at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Addison. Brother Mike Tidwell will officiate.
Billy is survived by his wife of 71 years, Geraldine Morgan; sons, Bill Morgan Jr. and his wife Dariese, Mike Morgan and his wife Shelia, and Hal Morgan and his wife Lynn; daughters, Robin Ann Smith and her husband Buck, and Michele Morgan and her husband Bubba; grandchildren, Stacy (Lance) Brannon, Steve Baker, Chris (April) Smith, Susie (Johnny) Ayers, Bridgette (Tim) Wallace, Joey (Brandy) Morgan, Taylor Morgan, B.J. Morgan, Craig (Misty) Morgan, Amber Hamilton, and Heath Drummond; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Debbie Smith and Laura Jean Morgan; and his parents, James Preston ad Ola Mae Smothers Morgan.
