James Wallace Brock, age 87, of Haleyville, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 8, 1936 to Willis and Viola Webb Brock. Wallace proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. He was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church (County Rd. 20-Delmar) with Bro. Keith Hood and Bro. Jeff Moses officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. Mr. Brock will lie in state from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the church.
Wallace is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Fanchion Pendley Brock; Son, Jeff (Juanita) Brock; daughter, Amy (Steven) Painter; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jonathan) Cole, Todd (Kirsten) Brock, Joshua Painter, and Hunter Painter; great-grandchildren, Emma Cole, Lexie Cole, Eli Brock, Sahmara Brock; brother, J.H. Brock; sister, Ruby Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Viola Webb Brock; two infant sons; siblings, Garfield (Thelma) Brock, Marie (George) Fowler, A.V. (Doyle) Shirley, Jerry (Brenda) Brock; brother in law, Ervin Smith; sister in law, Gay Brock.
