CULLMAN, Ala. – Flourish of Cullman’s Job Exploration Program kicked off this week, Monday, June 5, 2023, and will run until June 30, 2023. Through this program, clients entering 11th and 12th grades get real-world paid work experience in a competitive and integrated setting, which better prepares them for future workforce opportunities.

The program is a work-based learning program funded by Vocational Rehabilitation Service (VRS). Local schools, organizations and businesses, including the Cullman County Child Development Center, Cullman County Library, Tangled Tails Groom and Board and Encore Rehabilitation partnered with Flourish to offer a diverse selection of engaging employment opportunities, with clients choosing their work based on their interests and preferences.

Flourish of Cullman Executive Director Melissa Dew said the program lines up perfectly with Flourish’s goal of changing its clients’ lives by teaching them practical, real-life work skills.

“We love that we get to empower the individuals we serve to become working contributors to our community,” she shared.
