Funeral service for H.C. Hare, age 83, of Baileyton, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home; burial at Welcome Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Hare passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at his residence. He was born October 15, 1939, to Herbert Cleon and Clifferd Miranda Hare.
Mr. Hare was a local businessman for 51 years and was previously the owner of 157 Hardware.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Robyn Harbison; and son, Herbert Cecil Hare.
Survivors include his significant other, Carmel Smith; grandchildren, Ashley Butler, Donnie Shaw, and Cecily Miner; brother, Del Hare; sister, Bet Ellenburg; and his beloved lab, Sambo.
Carmel would like to extend a special thanks to Jimmy and Michelle Cost and James and Rea Cost for the great care they provided and also to Hospice of North Alabama, especially nurses, Kendall DeStafino and Ashley McClintoch, and hospice Pastor Tony and social worker, Christina.
