Timothy “Tim” Alton Mullican, 65, of Double Springs, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at his home.

Tim was born on Nov. 29, 1957 in Decatur, Alabama to Alton and Joyce Mullican. Tim was the most wonderful and understanding husband to Kathy, a loving father to Kara and Josh and Paw to his two precious grandchildren that adored him. Tim spent his life as a humble and helpful servant of the Lord in this community. He was a faithful member of the Double Springs Church of Christ.

As owner of Winston Auto Parts, he lived out his faith by serving others. He could often be found in the parking lot under a car trying to lend a helping hand, behind the counter selling parts on credit he knew he would never be repaid for, or heading to the parts store in the middle of the night to help a trucker in need. Outside of work, he could be found working on anything with a motor, trail riding on a dirt bike, riding dune buggys, drag racing, taking trips on his Harley out West or out to dinner and hanging out with family and friends at the Annual Tim Mullican Shady Grove Car Show in his honor.

Tim, or Timbo as his buddies called him, was one of a kind. He had a sincere smile and giving heart, never spoke an unkind word to anyone or about anyone, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and never wanted to be in the limelight. He was dearly loved by his family, friends and community and will be greatly missed. He was a man of few words but we felt these words say it best. “May the work I have done speak for me.”

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Double Springs Church of Christ from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. He will lie in state on Friday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., with services to follow at 2 p.m. Vance Hutton will officiate. Burial will be in Double Springs Memorial Gardens.

Tim is survived by his wife, Kathy Mullican; daughter, Kara Bishop and her husband Josh; grandchildren, Cali Bishop and Cruz Bishop; brother-in-law, Mike Curtis and his wife Deb; sisters-in-law, Debra Patterson, Connie Riddle, Judy Kilpatrick and her husband Randy, Andrea Curtis, and Angela Tidwell and her husband Keith; mother, Joyce Mullican; sister, Beverly Reynolds; brother, Murphy Mullican and his wife Connie; nieces, Haley Rutledge, Miranda Smith, Caroline Tidwell, Kailee Curtis and Juliana Tidwell; nephews, Adam Reynolds, Wes Reynolds, Jason Riddle, Jonathan Riddle, Wes Kilpatrick, Matt Kilpatrick and Kyle Patterson; and a host of extended family and friends.
