CULLMAN, Ala. – Due to the wild success of last year’s Dinner on First event – 400 tickets selling out in just 14 hours – Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism (CPRST) recently announced a major change to the way tickets can be purchased for this year’s event, which will be held May 18.
In a social media post, CPRST said the quick sellout of tickets, although quite an impressive feat for its Foundation, left many feeling disappointed at missing out. The solution proposed is a unique one: “This year, we’re giving everyone equal access to early bird tickets through a two-week online auction process.
Generous donors who meet the minimum bid of $2,000 per table during the pre-sale auction, will be recognized on the new donor’s wall at Field of Miracles after installation is complete.”
The level of recognition will vary based on the donor’s bid, with patron ($2,000-$3,499), advocate ($3,500-$4,999) and visionary ($5,000-plus) levels.
The auction will begin April 3 at midnight and close April 16 at midnight. Those who would like to bid can do so at https://cprs.betterworld.org/auctions/dinner-first. Tables seat eight.
Dinner on First, which began in 2016, is a unique outside dining experience set up along First Avenue in the Warehouse District. Attendees enjoy a gourmet dinner, live music and fellowship. The event acts as a primary fundraiser for many CPRST Foundation projects. In the past, they have included the Connected Playground at Margaret Ingle Park, the amphitheater at Art Park and, more recently, SkateDepot. This year’s project is the resurfacing of Miracle Field at the Field of Miracles. The rubberized field has been in place since 2007, and thanks to the consistent upkeep from the CPRST team, has lasted five years beyond its expected lifespan.
