William Earl “Bub” Childers, 70, of Blountsville, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Childers was born January 7, 1953, in Blountsville the son of Willie Earl Childers and Robia Kate Copeland Childers. He was a 1971 graduate of J.B. Pennington High School and graduated from St. Bernard with a degree in Accounting and Bookkeeping. He was retired from the state of Alabama after 33 years working as an accountant.
He is survived by his wife: Ruth Childers; sons: Nathan (Britni) Childers and Joseph (Amy) Childers; mother: Kate Childers; brother: Eddie (Wyvon) Childers; grandchildren: Kaci, Jodie and Isabella Childers; He was preceded in death by his father: Willie Earl Childers.
Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Blountsville Funeral Home with Brother Wayne Barnette and Brother Harlin Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Blountsville Funeral Home directing.
