Obituary: Gloria Cano-Duffie

A Mass of Christian Burial for Gloria Cano-Duffie of Hanceville will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28th at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hanceville. Burial will follow the service at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for the public will be on Thursday, Oct. 27th at the church from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 on Thursday.

Mrs. Duffie was born on Oct. 5, 1946, to the late Guadalupe Cano Sr. and Olivia (Sendego) Cano in Victoria, Texas. She died at the age of 76 on Oct. 22, 2022, at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, Alabama.

Survivors include her children: Bobby Joe (Kim) Duffie Jr., Olivia Duffie, Sylvia (Dennis) Edmondson and Lottie (Tim) Nuss; grandchildren: Sabine Duffie, Frazier Edmondson, Shauni Nuss, Sara Campbell, Ryan Duffie, J.L. Duffie, Mariah Duffie, Celine Duffie, Luke Duffie and Mandi Nuss; 6 great grandchildren; siblings: Lupe Cano Jr., Thomas Cano and Paula Cano; and a host of many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duffie was preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Joe Duffie Sr.; brothers: Salvador Cano and Jessie Cano; and sisters: Rachel Cano Martinez, Frances Cano and Ramona Cano.

Serving as pallbearers will be Frazier Edmondson, J.L. Duffie, Luke Duffie, Michael Cano, James Smelcer and Joey Bare.
