CCBOE approves out-of-state field trips

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County School Board (CCBOE) on Thursday, Oct. 13, approved three out-of-state field trips for eager students. Third graders from Vinemont Elementary School will be traveling via charter bus to Chattanooga on Nov. 10. From Dec. 26-30, the Good Hope High School boys’ basketball team will be in Pigeon Forge for a tournament. Early next year on Jan. 27, the West Point High School scholars bowl team will travel to Glasgow, Kentucky to compete in a national tournament. 

The following resignations were accepted:

  • Request from Fairview High School to pay a supplement to the following football coaches, paid by Fairview Quarterback Club: 
  • David W. Carrell – $500  
  • George Redding, Jr. – $2,500  
  • Brian Simmons – $1,500 
  • Request from Hanceville Middle School to pay Kimberly Kanaday as the volleyball bookkeeper $15 per match and 16 matches for a total of $250 
  • Request from Hanceville Middle School to pay Kimberly Kanaday as the basketball bookkeeper $15 per game for estimated 54 games for a maximum $810 
  • Request from Holly Pond High School to pay Scott Graham $350 and Matthew Wood $350 for brush cutter work  
  • 2022-23 afterhours programs and personnel for Harmony at $20 per hour for Heather Jones 
  • Request from the Child Nutrition Program to work at-risk program as needed:

The 2022-2023 Sick Leave Bank Committee will consist of the following employees:

A request from the transportation department to pay full-time bus drivers their regular hourly rate of pay for new substitute driver training was approved for Misty Gaines, Jennifer Manasco and Mark Whitley. 

The next board meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Central Office with the work session beginning at 3:30 p.m. and regular meeting following.
