Cullman Police Department aids in capture of capital murder suspect

CULLMAN, Ala. – Officers from the Cullman Police Department (CPD) on Monday afternoon, Aug. 22,  aided the Walker County Sheriff’s Office in the apprehension of Patrick Thomas Edge, 28, who is charged with the Nov. 15 capital murder of 33-year-old Krystal Lynn Franklin of Boldo. 

Edge, along with Jacob Aaron Thompson, 30, was indicted June 15.  

Franklin, a mother of seven, is not believed to have been the target, as Edge and Thompson fired into a vehicle.  

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude for the CPD’s assistance in taking Edge into custody. 

Edge is being held without bond.
