Obituary: Conrad H. Ellard

Conrad H. Ellard, 90, of Hanceville, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022. He was born August 1, 1931, in Cullman County, Alabama, to William Alexander and Ester Mae Gorham Ellard.

Mr. Ellard was a member of Walter Baptist Church. Conrad served honorably in the United States Army, and his service to his nation and its people is a sacrifice not soon forgotten. He also loved to garden, and he enjoyed being outside. Conrad loved his family and he enjoyed spending time with them all. He was loved and he will be missed greatly.

Mr. Ellard is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fred Ellard and Dwight Ellard; sister, Clarice Henry; and grandson, Robert Harbison.

He is survived by his wife: Norma Ellard; son: Bruce and Nina Ellard; daughters: Anita and Phillip Harbison: Belinda and Randy King and Donna and Michael Self; grandchildren: Matthew and Amy Ellard, Aaron Ellard, Nathan and Aldys Harbison, Justin and Heather King, Jared and Laura King, Jordan and Rachel King, Rachel Self and Seth Self; great-grandchildren: Owen Ellard, Mattie Ellard, Ava King, Miles King, Claire King, Aubree King, Brennan King and Grayson King; brothers: Pat Ellard, Jimmy and Evelyn Ellard; sister: Ruth Crutchfield and sister-in-law: Lois Ellard.

Funeral services for Mr. Ellard are 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Holly Pond Cemetery where Matthew Ellard, Aaron Ellard, Nathan Harbison, Justin King, Jared King, Jordan King, Seth Self and Owen Ellard will serve as pallbearers. Friends are invited to visit with the Ellard family on Wednesday, beginning two hours prior to service time, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
