Leon Roy Lane, age 84, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Leon was born August 1, 1937 in Lacon, Illinois to Viola Marie Marconet and Lyle David Henry Lane.
Leon is survived by his wife of 63 years: Mary E. Britton Lane; his daughter: Deborah Lane (Mark) Calvert; his son: Paul David (Karen) Lane; his grandchildren: Misty Amber Lane (Richard) Fisher, Marki Grace Calvert (Michael) Anderson, Abigail Elizabeth Calvert (Timothy) Andrews and Sharon Nicole Lane and his great-grandchildren: Allison Marie Fisher, Richard Aiden Fisher, Lauren Faith Anderson and Sanuel Boone Anderson.
Leon was preceded in death by his father: Lyle David Henry Lane and his mother: Viola Marie Marconet Lane.
Leon proudly served our country in the Navy for 12 years. He moved to Alabama and started his own business, S.& L. Door Control, in January of 1971. He loved his Auburn Tigers. He was also a member of the Cullman Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge.
A celebration of life visitation for Leon will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. An interment will occur at Cullman City Cemetery (812 9th Ave SW, Cullman, Alabama 35055).
