Multiple arrests following traffic stop in Jones Chapel

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. – Cullman County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the Jones Chapel community on December 12. 

John Coy Denney, 52, of Holly Pond, and Carrie Bridget Pelham Pate, 36, of Cullman, were passengers in the vehicle. 

Deputies located illegal narcotics and paraphernalia in the vehicle and on their persons. Both were arrested following the stop. 

Denney was charged with possession of opium or derivative (two counts), possession of drug paraphernalia (two counts) and possession of marijuana in the second degree (two counts). 

Pate was charged with possession of opium or derivative, possession of drug paraphernalia (three counts), possession of marijuana in the second degree (two counts) and possession of methamphetamine (warrant).
