Funeral service for Wendell Leon Overton, 81, of Cullman, will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in the Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home. Brother Paul Campbell will officiate the service. The interment will be in the Etha Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Overton passed from this life on November 21, 2021 at his residence. He was born August, 26, 1940 to Bernice Harmless and Rachel Eugene Kimbril Overton.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Shelby Jean Overton; special companion: Beverly Warnke; parents: Bernice and Rachel Kimbril Overton; brothers: Elbert Overton and Wilford Overton and sister: Imogene Brummett.
Mr. Overton is survived by his sister: Mary (Lester) Loyd; sons: Jerry and Renee Overton, and Perry and Kim Overton; grandchildren: Wesley Overton, Samantha and Brandon Dawson, Nick and Mackenzie Overton and Morgan Overton; five great-grandchildren: Julianna Overton, Hannah, Kaeden, Adalyn and Brynlie Dawson and a host of family and friends.
