GOOD HOPE, Ala. – Good Hope High School track athletes and coaches were joined by several representatives from the Cullman County School Board Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the completion of a new track on campus. The project totaled $92,000 and contributions from donors, the City of Good Hope and several others made it possible to get the new track ready for the upcoming season.

Good Hope High School Principal John Hood is grateful to all those who contributed to the project and is looking forward to hosting more events thanks to the new upgrades.

“We knew that we wanted to get it re-finished and then we started looking into it and knew that we needed two more lanes in order to be able to host meets here like we want to,” Hood said. “So, we got with some donors that got us some grants and we were able to get the money together and get it done.”

With the new track complete, Hood is looking forward to hosting different events on campus including Sectional and County track meets.

“We would love to host Sectional meets here. We’re able to host them now and we would love to have the Sectionals here and that’s something we’re going to be striving to do,” Hood said. “And then the County Championship too, we’d love to have everyone here for that and be able to host different meets throughout the season.”
