Obituary: Marvin Geral Waid

Marvin Geral Waid of Double Springs entered into rest on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Alabama.

Marvin was born on June 1, 1933 in Double Springs, Alabama. He was an avid golfer, deer hunter and fisherman. He loved the Lord and enjoyed singing gospel music, especially sacred harp music. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Boldo Memorial Gardens. Bro. David Hood and Bro. Bill Frank Wilson will officiate.

Marvin is survived by his wife: Jean waid; children: Eric Waid, Cameron Waid (Renee), Wanda Wilkins (James) and Forrest Waid (Melissa); stepchildren: Jeannine Phillips (Tommy), Landon Dreher (Wanda) and Randall Dreher (Tia); grandchildren: Shannon Clark, Jason Waid, Griff Waid, Tyler Waid, Jenny Elliot, Justin Robinson, Wade Vincent, Brent Vincent, Jordan Wilkins, Wesley Wilkins, Marissa Hood, Logan Waid and Caleb Key; step-grandchildren: Leah Bagwell, Brittany  Legvold, Erica Nunn, Zach Dreher and Brody Dreher; many great-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children: Foye Mae Waid; daughter: Wenona Robinson; parents: Fount and Virgie Waid; brothers: Ardus Waid, Ben Waid and Dudley Waid and a sister: Alene Woodley.
