OAKMAN, Ala. – After topping Susan Moore in a shootout on the road last week, Vinemont was back on the road Friday night to face off against the Oakman Wildcats and the Wildcats came away with a 28-6 homecoming victory.

Vinemont had a tough time getting anything going on offense. Oakman struck first late in the first quarter to go up 6-0 with just 37 seconds remaining in the opening period. The Wildcats stretched their lead to 14-0 with 5:12 remaining in the first half. Vinemont marched down the field and scored when quarterback Rush Sandlin hit Colby Miller for a 20-yard touchdown with just 8 seconds remaining until halftime and the Eagles went to the locker room trailing just 14-6.

Vinemont and Oakman played a scoreless third quarter, but the Wildcats scored on the first play of the fourth to go up 20-6. The Wildcats added another touchdown with 8:54 remaining in the game to go up 28-6 and Vinemont was unable to find the endzone again for the remainder of the game.

The Eagles fall to 3-5 with the loss and will be back home next week to square off against the Holly Pond Broncos.
