Two women arrested for drug trafficking following traffic stop

CULLMAN, Ala. – Two women from neighboring states were arrested in Cullman County following a traffic stop on Tuesday according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. 

ALEA officials said following the traffic stop of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata for speeding and improper lane usage, troopers found evidence to search the vehicle. They discovered four glass jars containing 2.9 lbs. of marijuana and a digital scale.

Amia Scott, 21, of Chicago, Illinois, and Chyna Wright, 21, of Conyers, Georgia were arrested near the 317 mile marker of Interstate-65 on Tuesday around 7:30 p.m.

Scott and Wright were both charged with trafficking in cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. and were transported to the Cullman County Jail. Their jail bonds were set at $500,000 each. 

Nothing further is available currently as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.
