CULLMAN, Ala. – Peinhardt Farms announced the cancellation of its 2021 Peinhardt Farm Day amidst concerns over volunteers and school tour registrations. According to event coordinator Jennifer Tucker, the celebration of traditional agriculture and crafts suffered from a low number of commitments from schools that usually come out for tours, few volunteers and worries about the welfare of the volunteers who did sign up, most of whom are older.

“We just did not have the numbers we usually do,” said Tucker.

Reflecting on the history of the event and last year’s COVID disruption, Tucker added, “It’s heartbreaking, because we were looking forward to it this year.”
