CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. – Below are the latest COVID-19 numbers for Cullman County Schools. We are pleased to report that numbers are declining across the district.

As of Tuesday, September 14:  Positive: 69 close contact: 242, which is 3.3% of the district’s 9,425 students.  Two weeks ago, the district was over 11%.  All schools are under the 15% threshold for mask requirements set by Dr. Barnette. However, some of our schools are finishing up a two-week mask requirement since those schools were previously over 15%.

While masks are not required, they continue to be strongly recommended. Students who are identified as close contacts are not being sent home if they wear a properly fitted mask.  “While the numbers are promising, and the trends are going in the right direction, it is still important to take precautions,” said Dr. Shane Barnette, Cullman County School superintendent.  Masks will continue to be required for both the driver and all passengers on school buses, due to a federal mandate.
