HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Hanceville Bulldogs returned home to Ray Talley Stadium Friday night to take on another region foe and unfortunately for the home crowd, it was the other team of Bulldogs that left with a win. Dora jumped out to an early lead over Hanceville and went on to pitch a 28-0 shutout to improve to 2-1 on the year.

The Bulldogs received the game’s opening kickoff and put together a long, methodical drive. Hanceville drove its way inside Dora’s 10-yard line but was stopped on fourth and short, giving possession to Dora midway through the first quarter. Dora’s Bulldogs responded with a long drive of their own and capped it off with a 12-yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead with just over three minutes to play in the first.

Hanceville was forced to punt on its next possession and Dora took advantage just a few snaps later with a 55-yard touchdown pass that made it a 14-0 game early in the second quarter. An 11-yard touchdown run with two minutes remaining in the opening half extended Dora’s lead to 21-0 and Hanceville went into the locker room at the break trailing by three touchdowns.

Dora received the ball to start the third quarter and used the running game to make its way down the field before pulling up and connecting on a 31-yard touchdown pass to pull ahead 28-0 midway through the third quarter. Hanceville’s defense kept Dora off the scoreboard the rest of the night, but the Bulldogs offense wasn’t able to find the end zone either and Dora held on to win it 28-0.

Zac Campbell led the way for Hanceville with 104 yards on 21 carries. JT Davis also caught three passes for 31 yards in the loss.

The Bulldogs fall to 1-2 on the season with the loss and will be on the road next week to face Good Hope.
