Tractor-trailer rig strikes house in Berlin

BERLIN, Ala. – On Tuesday afternoon, a Tyson Farms tractor-trailer struck a house on U.S. Highway 278 near its intersection with County Road 747 in Berlin. The truck was traveling west on Highway 278 when it crossed and left the road, striking and passing through the east end of the house. The impact moved the entire house, with portions pushed an estimated six feet off their foundations.

Three people were in the house at the time of the crash, two in the east end where the impact occurred. All three were transported for medical care.

The Berlin Fire Department, Cullman EMS, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to the incident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by ALEA.
