Obituary: Joyce Ann Goodno

Joyce Ann Goodno, 64, of Holly Pond, passed away on July 11, 2021. She was born in Flint, Michigan, on August 13, 1956, to Rev. Dalton James “DJ” Wright and Shelly Faustine Parrish Wright.

Joyce Ann loved country music and she enjoyed going to the shops in Nashville to find items to add to her extensive music collection. She also knew how to find treasures for her collection at local yard sales and thrift stores. She was a member of the Conway Twitty fan club and truly was his biggest fan. She loved both Conway and his music, and she valued the friendship she made with his daughter Kathy Twitty. Joyce Ann and Kathy spoke daily and became the best of friends. Joyce Ann enjoyed beautiful flowers and loved to tend to her flower garden. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she is remembered with love by her family. Her children also lovingly tell of her constant reminder to their dad, Junior, to wash his hands and pull up his pants.

Joyce Ann is preceded in death by her father: Rev. DJ Wright; brother: Mark Anthony Wright and sister: Wanda Townson.

She is survived by her adoring husband: Junior Goodno; her mother: Shelly Faustine Parrish Wright Carter; sons: Shannon Goodno and Nathan Goodno; daughter: Stephanie Schicht and her husband Robert; brothers: Timothy Wright and Jimmy Wright; sister: Cathy Kilgo and her husband Michael; grandchildren: Cody James Stewart, Payton Brigman, Hannah Goodno, Lily Goodno, Brayden James Goodno, Hayden Brice Goodno, Destiny Goodno, Shane Goodno, Desiree Goodno, Michael Schicht, Aubrey Schicht, Anna Schicht and Eve Schicht and best friend: Kathy Twitty.

Funeral services for Mrs. Goodno are 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in New Hope #2 Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from noon until services begin at 2 p.m.
